Respect and online safety
Teaching module for lower secondary schools
The project stems from a desire to create a space for listening and discussion on how young people experience the digital world, to show them the value and responsibility of their online actions. We will explore the meaning of digital identity, respect and responsibility, to help them navigate online relationships, content and dynamics. The focus is on preventing harmful and discriminatory behaviour, with a particular focus on the issues of privacy and consent.

Online relationships

Using examples drawn from everyday life, we will explore issues such as cyberbullying, body shaming and hate speech, highlighting the impact that words and images have on young people's wellbeing. We will examine the role played by social media in reinforcing prejudices and discriminatory behaviour, with a particular focus on unrealistic beauty standards, body dysmorphia and self-perception.
Digital safety and image management

We will explore the concepts of personal data, images and online reputation. We will examine the importance of consent when publishing and sharing images, and reflect on the potential consequences and repercussions of the unauthorised dissemination of photos or personal content. The session will also introduce the risks associated with the circulation of intimate images, linking them to issues of respect for the body and personal dignity, as a form of early prevention of gender-based violence.
