Historical connections
Four decades of transformations and growth
The route of the exhibition illustrates Unipol’s evolution through a chronological structure comprising four periods, which tie the growth of the company in with the economic, social and cultural changes that have taken place in Italy. From the phase of consolidation and establishing local roots, through opening up to the market and gradual expansion, right up to the creation of an integrated group firmly focused on innovation, a story of continuous change is unveiled.
Archive materials, photos, posters and institutional documents trace the key milestones of this journey: head offices as a sign of presence in urban spaces, communication campaigns as an expression of values and documents as tools for representation and transparency.
The exhibition is part of the thematic programme of Archivissima 2026, dedicated to “what is not there.” The project proposes a reading that goes beyond images and documents, inviting viewers to reflect on what does not immediately appear and highlighting the intangible elements that have accompanied and enabled Unipol’s evolution over time: determination, vision, responsibility, and shared values.
The exhibition is accompanied by the publication ‘Shares for the company 1986- 2026: four decades of trasformations and growth’, edited by Tito Menzani.
The initiative is part of the Archivissima program, the Festival and the Night of the Archives.
