ECHI [ECHOES]

Tania Brassesco & Laslo Passi Norberto
23 April – 18 July 2014

CUBO presents ECHOES, the solo exhibition of the artistic duo Tania Brassesco and Lazlo Passi Norberto, to give the public the opportunity to get to know and appreciate the Universe through their works, within which the artists seek to express and explore the most intimate and mysterious aspects of human nature.

Melancholy and loneliness, but also discovery and escape from reality, are represented in their photographic works, creating evocative images and ethereal suggestions. A visual poetry where echoes from the past are perceived and revived in new forms, as in the series The Essence of Decadence in which the soul of fin de siècle paintings is interpreted in a photographic and personal key. The artist duo creates a close link between the existential crisis of that era and ours today, reflecting immortal feelings. Echoes and reminiscences, timeless images that are also the mirror of restless inner visions which in the Fairy Tales Now series offer us an escape route to imaginary and dreamlike places.

Hovering between the real and the unreal, the works are suspended in a timeless, imagined and reconstructed space and are made entirely live by the two artists, creating sets. The artists meticulously study all the details and interpret the characters, crystallising the whole in the photographic image.  A fusion of different disciplines expertly blended like a film scene and executed in complete autonomy down to the smallest detail.

CUBO's exhibition project is enriched by a multimedia APP created ad-hoc that allows the user to intuitively and autonomously expand the exhibition-related content – from the Apple Store and Google Play.

At the end of the exhibition the contents can be viewed on Mediarte,  an interactive application on the multimedia tables of the Mediateca containing the archive of the exhibitions held in the CUBO exhibition spaces.
