A woman's musical journey Bologna, 25 November 2023

Unipol Auditorium Enea Mazzoli - Via Stalingrado 37, Bologna
25 Nov 2023 - 25 Nov 2023

On  25 November, it is worthwhile to try to revisit history from another point of view, highlighting the fundamental contribution made by women, who are too often sidelined or forgotten.

The history of music is actually brimming with many sparkling female musicians, such as Clara Wieck(wife of R. Schumann), Fanny Mendelssohn (sister of the famous Felix) andCécile Chaminade , right up to Consuelo Velázquez (the composer of the well-known song Besame Mucho) who in their lifetime were not just performers, they were also composers and innovators who deserve their place in the history of music.
The narrator will help us to discover the lives of these women and the challenges they had to face as we are introduced to and become aware of the influence women have had on the world of music.

In collaboration with the Euterpe Mousikè Study Center and the Modena Municipal Theatre Philharmonic.

The event is included in the fifth edition of Non ballo da sola, the event promoted and organised by CUBO and the Unipol Group to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
