Inhabiting Space
28 February – 11 April 2023
Our planet has been explored even in the most remote corners by now, all that’s left are the ocean depths and it’s starting to get tight! What would happen if we exhausted all its resources? Would it be possible to take refuge elsewhere, on another planet, that would allow our survival?
We recently started to explore space, trying to live there. It wasn’t easy: we need what is normally found on Earth: light, heat, air, nourishment, even our weight! But the way has been opened, we have succeeded. The adventure of inhabiting space has begun!

Life as an Astronaut
The International Space Station
- Tuesday 28 February 2023 at 21:00 - 23:00
Man's adventure in space began with Yuri Gagarin in 1961 and the Moon landing in 1969, while man has permanently inhabited the International Space Station (ISS), our outpost in space, with crews taking turns on board this laboratory since 2000. The Italians have also played their part, with no less than seven astronauts.
What's it like to live in orbit, weightless, and how do you prepare for it?
Today it is an environment for a select few, but space tourism could arise in the future and it could be a fantastic holiday, so let's get ready!
In Search of a New Land
Extrasolar Planets
- Tuesday 14 March 2023 at 21:00 - 23:00
The latest astronomical observations have shown the existence of numerous 'solar systems' around other stars. Many of these exoplanets are strikingly different from what we are used to, while others are very similar to Earth and could, perhaps, harbour life.
How are these 'companions' of Earth found? Will it ever be possible to reach these worlds?
Could they accommodate humanity if the Earth became uninhabitable?
Is Anyone There?
The search for life in the universe
- Tuesday 11 April 2023 at 21:00 - 23:00
Life developed very early on Earth and has been evolving for 4 billion years, conquering every ecological niche on the planet.
But is 'life', in all its expressions, an exclusively terrestrial fact?
And if we were to look for it elsewhere, what conditions on Earth allowed and favoured its birth?
Water was certainly fundamental, one of the factors that made our planet 'inhabited'.
Are there places in our solar system where life could originate and develop?
And around other stars?
Will we ever be able to communicate with aliens?
