Alfonsina y el mar. Stories of tango and passions

  • Tuesday 14 June 2016 at 21:15

**Amanda Sandrelli** portrays the most evocative pages of some of the most famous poets in Argentine history accompanied by the most moving notes of modern music. An intense journey through the melancholic notes of the music of **Astor Piazzolla**, the poetic duels of **Jorge Luis Borges** and the heartbreaking passion of the songs of **Carlos Gardel**.
The tango is the sensual perfection of an instant; it is an evocation of eroticism and of glances cast miles apart;
music imbued with a lyrically minimalist physicality, which was born trafficking on the borders of illegality and thus became dirty, changed trajectory, scratched sound. Tango is all these things and more.

With **Amanda Sandrelli**, **Giampaolo Bandini** guitar, **Cesare Chiacchiaretta** bandoneon.

Musica nuda

On stage, they showcase their ability to rework both classics and lesser-known songs in a personal yet respectful way, accentuating the emotional aspect. A little jazz, a little songwriting, a little rock, a little punk and, finally, even classical music because when ‘music is naked’ there are no boundaries. Petra and Ferruccio's highly original sound infiltrates each composition and breathes new life into it, demonstrating a truly astonishing eclecticism.

  • Thursday 30 June 2016 at 21:15

**Roberto Vecchioni**, interviewed by **Franz Campi**, meets the audience in a dialogue that delves into the birth of a song or a novel, recounting little anecdotes and curiosities that lie behind the genesis of a lyric or a melody. An occasion to describe how the

Even a **Mozart** who was still a child was welcomed to London in 1764 and was inspired by it for the Londoner Skizzenbuch. It is precisely these ‘London notes’ that will resound on the harpsichord, alongside Sonata V from Opus 5 of ‘Bach of London’, while the voice of the mezzo-soprano will be entrusted with two much-loved Händelian arias, such as ‘Lascia ch'io pianga’ from the opera Rinaldo.

With **Philippe Daverio**, **Valeria Montanari** harpsichord, **Ewa Gubanska** mezzo-soprano.

Carla Bley “Trios”

Thanks to the skilful arrangement of the celebrated pianist and composer **Carla Bley**, here supported by her lifelong companions **Steve Swallow** and **Andy Sheppard**, the ‘Trios’ project possesses an evocative power of enchantment, without mannerisms and with a prodigiously broad vision. What one perceives in Trios is chamber jazz in which neither a note nor a chord sounds out of proportion or beyond what is necessary and which, in its breaths and silences, savours the very essence of music.

Daverio's words will allow us to approach different aspects of the figure of Frederick the Great: the patron, with the Sonatas composed at court by the ‘Bach of Berlin’, the composer and flautist, with the notes written for him by **Johann Joachim Quantz**, with whom the king loved to delight in musical duets.

With **Philippe Daverio**, **Daniele Salvatore** transverse flute, **Carlo Mazzoli** fortepiano.

La ballata delle acciughe. Dario Vergassola

  • Tuesday 2 August 2016 at 21:15

‘La ballata delle acciughe’, the debut novel by the Ligurian comedian **Dario Vergassola**, is a vivid fresco full of affection, which behind the epic venture of Gino the clerk shows a personal search for memories, faces, stories: the wise anchovies tell the story of the bar, the author and those who, in any Italian province, have found a second family made up of funny and melancholic characters.

The evening therefore starts with this story and then takes the form of Vergassola's typical quirky and sassy interview. Some of Bologna's most high-profile chefs will be at the receiving end of this: to get back to talking about food after the **EXPO** binge, since it is in Bologna that Italy's largest agri-food centre, **FICO**, will open.

Mario meets jazz. Mario Venuti & Urban Fabula

  • Thursday 4 August 2016 at 21:15

but also pieces from the classical repertoire, Cole Porter songs such as ‘Night and Day’, Jobim's bossa nova or Italian classics such as Bindi', he said.

Joining Mario Venuti on stage is the all-Sicilian trio Urban Fabula, made up of accomplished musicians **Seby Burgio**, **Peppe Tringali** and **Alberto Fidone**.

He wanted to be an artist. Homage to Domenico Modugno by Peppe Voltarelli

  • Tuesday 30 August 2016 at 21:15

‘He wanted to be an artist’ is a theatrical show that reinterprets the repertoire of **Domenico Modugno** in a modern key, remembered in a way that is swet and light-hearted. A genuine tribute
to the great Apulian singer, successful actor and performer, man of the South but above all, all-round artist, author of memorable songs such as ‘Volare’.

Modugno's work becomes for **Peppe Voltarelli** the pretext for an autobiographical reflection
on the journey and the sense of uprooting and precariousness of every emigrant.
The songs are reinterpreted in the manner of a storyteller with guitar and accordion, alternating sung verses, narratives, anecdotes and fragments of life that lead back to the magical presence of the Apulian maestro, understood as an inspirer and guide.

Massimo Cacciari. Is it still possible to think in utopias?

  • Thursday 1 September 2016 at 21:15

Does a utopia still exist in the twilight of Europe? A reflection on the personal, but also on political identity and responsibility that touches the heart of the current situation. Prophecy and utopia are two founding categories of the development of the modern West. Utopia can only come into being when the concept of change is affirmed and the possibility of designing an alternative society to the dominant one and fighting for its transformation into reality arises...

With **Massimo Cacciari**.

Serena Dandini. Quello che le donne non dicono

  • Tuesday 6 September 2016 at 21:15

Giorgio Comaschi. La farina va in amore

  • Thursday 8 September 2016 at 21:15
