On the occasion of BIBOLBUL the International Comics Festival, CUBO hosts David Wiesner, American illustrator and writer of children’s books. His work stands out for its profound ability to study and portray personalities and their characters.

Creating characters and inventing stories

**David Wiesner** holds a workshop at CUBO. It starts from the study of a character to arrive from this to the development of a story. Participants are asked to bring a drawing of a creature to the workshop: no limits, human, animal, alien, robot... This is transposed into a small three-dimensional model made of plasticine, which will be photographed in various ways. Observing and redrawing the 3D model will bring out certain characteristics of the character that remain hidden on paper, on which participants will then work to build the character's background and history.
