CUBO in collaboration with the University of Bologna presents a reflection on the health
emergency that we are experiencing and which has led to major changes in society and in our lifestyle,
revolutionising our personal and working relationships, the way we access information and
services, our interests, our way of enjoying our free time and culture.
The event includes a workshop dedicated to youngsters and a round table.
Countdown to European Researchers’ Night is the series of events and meetings that precedes European Researchers’ Night,
the initiative promoted by the European Commission since 2005 which every year involves
thousands of researchers and research institutes from all European countries
SCIENCE AND (PSEUDO) SCIENCE: GETTING TO GRIPS…WITH PHILOSOPHY

**Workshop dedicated to 16 to 18-year-olds**.
Guided by researchers from the University of Bologna, secondary school students will perform logical-critical, ethical and creative thought exercises during practical philosophy sessions. They will address questions relating to the nature of science, in particular how it differs from pseudo-science, examining the role each one plays in modern society. Beginning with readings of classic texts, collective solutions will be identified for contemporary problems. This activity will be managed by the **AION** research group of the Department of Philosophy and Communication of the University of Bologna.

SOCIETY AND PANDEMIC. Understanding uncertainties in order to face change

A round table to discuss and analyse the transformations we are going through, the changes in our habits, new forms of sociality, the relationship between local and global, the resumption of the path traced by the sustainability goals of the United Nations in a changing society. Thanks to the contributions of figures from the world of research at the University of Bologna, these aspects will be presented and analysed from different perspectives in order to offer a structured and interdisciplinary vision.
