Astronomical suggestions
15 February – 12 April 2022
Astronomy is an attempt to give an answer to the usual questions: Who are we? Where do we come from? Are there other worlds, other civilisations? Taking inspiration from some scenes from famous science fiction films that have brought us on exciting journeys in space and time, we will search for the laws that regulate the universe.
There is often a solid scientific basis behind these works: nature is able to amaze us beyond all our imagination.

Star Trek: when science meets the future
- Tuesday 15 February 2022 at 21:00 - 22:30
The theory of relativity offers us solutions that just a short time ago seemed to be science fiction: travelling by warp is possible, teleportation is feasible, even time is relative... especially if we are near a black hole!
Interstellar: Einstein put to the test

The meeting will be inspired by the major film success of Christopher Nolan in order to face and understand great scientific theories of modern and avant-garde physics, from the General Theory of Relativity to the extreme distortions of space-time. An opportunity to examine the plausibility of certain questions from a scientific point of view, starting from the suggestions of science fiction.
Back to the future: time travel

Like in the film, going back in time could have strange, dangerous, interesting consequences.
