Slam Poetry
Performative poetry workshop for adults 15 October - 5 November 2022
The popular, inclusive, oral vocation of poetry comes from its origins, linked to storytellers, travelling poets, theatre, urban subcultures and the world of hip-hop. In this workshop we will explore the meaning of poetry slam: we will be poets who look at our own biography, our imagination, the social reality in which we live, and we will try to transform it into poetry. With a piece of paper in hand and a microphone in front of us, we will read our poems in front of a popular jury, drawn by lot from the public, in a friendly competition.

What is poetry slam

Introduction to poetry slam: examples with texts and videos preparatory to the guided writing of a first text and final group reading.
Reading the room and the relationship with the audience
- Saturday 22 October 2022 at 10:00 - 12:00
Group work preparatory to working with the room and the relationship with the audience; reading exercises on given texts and guided writing of a second text.
The use of the body and the voice
- Saturday 29 October 2022 at 10:00 - 12:00
Group work preparatory to the use of the body and the voice and to the construction of a lineup for the final performance.
Final performance
- Saturday 5 November 2022 at 10:00 - 12:00
General rehearsal and final performance open to the public.
