Digital citizenship education
Teaching module for lower secondary schools
The programme is aimed at girls and boys in lower secondary school, to help them navigate the digital world more safely and responsibly. Through topics and content tailored to digital natives, the project will guide pupils through discovering the basic rules for using the internet properly, whilst at the same time developing a sense of responsibility and digital citizenship.
We will address rights and responsibilities online and in everyday life, how to protect one’s personal data whilst browsing the web and how to use the various social networks responsibly.

Our digital identity
- Thursday 11 February 2027 at 10:00 - 12:00
Every time we browse the internet, we are building our digital identity, which is made up of the information we choose to share and the traces we leave online. Managing it means being aware of the rights and responsibilities of being a citizen, including online. During the course, we’ll reflect on how to protect our identity and reputation online, by paying attention to what we post and how we interact with others.
Online safety and cyberbullying
- Thursday 18 February 2027 at 10:00 - 12:00
The aim of this lesson is to raise students’ awareness of the risks associated with using the internet and to provide practical advice on how to protect themselves in their everyday digital lives. Simple tips on online safety are offered, with a particular focus on password management and the use of two-step verification. The session also addresses the issue of bullying and cyberbullying, to help students recognise their characteristics and various forms, both in real life and online.
Teenagers and social networks
- Thursday 25 February 2027 at 10:00 - 12:00
Social media may be part of our daily lives, but how well do we really understand it? This session will help participants understand how the various platforms work, how they use our data, and what hidden risks lie behind ‘likes’ and ‘followers’: from detachment in real-life relationships to the creation of an often-inauthentic self-image, right through to addiction.
