​If food is a basic necessity for an ever-growing population, producing healthy and sustainable food accessible to all is a goal that requires us to engage all of the cultural, scientific and technological resources at our disposal. How is research into the food of the future progressing? How are cities preparing to ensure fair and sustainable access to food? These are some of the questions that we will try to answer during the three events in the series. Food and the cities – Food policies for sustainable cities

The goal of urban food policies is to interconnect and systematically organise all aspects of food in relation to town and cities: cultivation, distribution, consumption, avoiding waste, recycling and educating.
In his book, **Andrea Magarini Pellini** presents an analysis of the food policies of some of the world's major cities, using food as the starting point to consider new and sustainable ways of urban development and management.

Urban farming projects. Presentation of the ResCUE-AB and FoodE projects

**Giovanni Bazzocchi**, researcher and professor at the University of Bologna, presents the projects of ResCUE-AB Centro studi e ricerca agricoltura urbana e biodiversità and FoodE Food System in European Cities, whose goal is "the transformation of the city into a widespread eco-laboratory that brings together different experiences in agriculture and urban ecology and promotes the creation of ecological corridors”.
