From Giacomo Agostini to "Pecco Bagnaia" Unipol and motorcycling

Giacomo Agostini, also known as Ago, is the most decorated rider in the history of  Grand Prix motorcycling: he has eight world titles in the 500cc class and seven in the 350cc class.  He won a total of 123 Grand Prix and finished on the podium in 163 of his 190 world championship races. Here we see him finish first, in 1971, at the Unipol Motorcycle Trophy in Modena. The 1971 season was a real triumph for Agostini who managed to win the world championships in the 350cc and 500cc classes with three races to go.

Second place Renzo Pasolini, who died at the 1973 Monza Grand Prix, is alongside him in the photo.  Unipol has a long-standing commitment to motorcycling. Going back to 2017, for the last six seasons (including the season that started on 6 March 2022) UnipolSai has been the official sponsor of Ducati Corse for the MotoGP World Championship. Ducati won the world constructor's title in 2021 and has recently unveiled a new, highly competitive model.

Once again the Borgo Panigale team will be led on the track this season by Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia, who finished second in the drivers' championship in 2021, and Jack Miller.
