CUBO LIVE – places, ideas, voices, events – is a series of live shows promoted by CUBO, the corporate museum of the Unipol Group, throughout Italy in especially picturesque locations.
The historic location of the Gardens of Piazza Viera de Mello in Bologna will feature a range of Italian song-writing, jazz and classical music. Summer evenings under the Bologna sky for all those with are curious, passionate and enjoy listening to music in the company of others.
Few bands can boast 50 years of history, but the Headhunters can, a band founded by the great Herbie Hancock in 1973. The group has changed musicians several times since then, but always remaining faithful to the sound that has made it one of the world's best-loved bands. A perfect fusion of funk, rock, jazz and R&B that inspired thousands of musical projects over the following decades, while also becoming one of the most sampled groups in acid jazz, rap and hip-hop.
Six albums, several reissues and celebratory reunions have been immortalised on now legendary records (Head Hunters, Thrust, Flood, Survival of the Fittest, Straight from the Gate, Return of the Head Hunters) and crowned by tours all over the globe. The latest line-up features the original rhythm section, with veterans Mike Clarke on drums and Bill Summers on percussion, supported on this occasion by three new band-mates, including saxophonist Donald Harrison, a jazz ambassador from the city of New Orleans, who is also a key figure in US jazz history.
