The monologue, loosely based on Dostoevsky's “The Dream of a Ridiculous Man," is the story of a prostitute, of a woman and her pain, silent pain, cleverly concealed from the eyes of the world that sees and pretends not to see. A world ready to judge without asking too many questions, without trying to go beyond the facade, beyond the stereotype.
RIDICULOUS is a woman who is always hungry, hungry for everything she lacks. Hungry for love, she searches for a reason to live in the emptiness of her existence.
The encounter with “the other" and the discovery that a different view of the world is possible, one that is free from fear and prejudice, where the word love reaches its highest meaning, will be life-saving.
The event is part of the seventh edition of
Non ballo da sola, the festival promoted and organized by CUBO and Unipol on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
