Born in New York and trained at the Berklee College of Music, Nir Felder immediately established himself on the US jazz scene thanks to his unique linguistic versatility (capable of ranging from classic jazz, to fusion, to rock) and his extraordinary guitar skills. His most prestigious collaborations include those with Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau, John Mayer, Chaka Khan, Greg Osby, Esperanza Spalding, Jack DeJohnette and Meshell Ndegeocello. His production as a band leader focuses on the project entitled Golden Age, three recording chapters made between 2014 and 2024 that earned him the title of Rising Star Guitarist in the DownBeat's Critics Poll in both 2021 and 2023. On this European tour, Felder is joined by two equally renowned overseas performers, Michael Janisch andGary Novak, for a show based on a repertoire of original songs that teeter between complex structures, gritty grooves and lyrical ballads that will highlight his extraordinary technical expertise, never an end in itself and always centred on musical expressiveness.
The concert will open the fifth edition of CUBO LIVE – places, ideas, voices, events – the new touring series of live shows promoted by CUBO, the corporate museum of the Unipol Group, throughout Italy in especially picturesque locations. One of these is the historic 5-star hotel Principi di Piemonte | UNA Esperienze, in the heart of the city of Turin
In association with Bologna Jazz Festival.
