As part of the Aspettando la Notte dei Ricercatori 2024 event, CUBO – in collaboration with the University of Bologna and within the European project "SOCIETY reAGIAMO" – offers a meeting with the public on 18 September.
Starting with the anniversaries of Marconi and radio, the talk hosted by journalist Stefania Carini talks about the evolution of the concept of connection, through the words of two guests: Luca Barra, media historian and professor at the University of Bologna and Rosario Pellecchia radio presenter.
Radio was the first live mass medium. Free radios then gave voice to new needs from the 1970s onwards. And today, voice is back in the spotlight thanks to podcasts. For the first time, the voice of the radio united the public at set times, thus realising a new perception of community. This connection linking individual and mass is one of the hallmarks of the 20th century and today, it is enough to just think of the web and social media.
The events organised for the Notte Europea dei Ricercatori evening are part of Bologna Estate 2024, the programme of activities promoted and coordinated by the Municipality of Bologna and the Metropolitan City of Bologna - Bologna-Modena Tourism Territory.
The project SOCIETY reAGIAMO is an associated event of the European Union's MSCA and Citizens programme under the Marie Skłodowska Curie programme. HORIZON-MSCA-2023-CITIZENS-01.
