In Greek mythology, Pythia was the elected priestess of the god Apollo who, sitting on her tripod in Delphi and shrouded in mist, prophesied the will of the gods to men through a solemn prediction.
In the story "The death of Pythia" by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, the prophetess of Apollo becomes "a cheat who improvised oracles at random, according to the mood of the moment", the last of the Pythias that appeared as the ancient version of today's fortune tellers. Daniele Pecci brings Dürrenmatt's text to the stage in the form of a reading, reinterpreting it in a secular, irreverent and fun way.
