The aim of this third edition is to investigate three areas – education, media, publishing – in which the word is undisputed protagonist in the light of the pandemic, and the economic and social crisis we are experiencing.
2021 marks 75 years since the institutional referendum that established the birth of the Italian Republic, when for the first time all Italian citizens were called upon to vote. The event includes four steps, four debates among experts in the field coordinated by a number of members of the Scientific Committee of the Libraries of Bologna. In collaboration with the Library Sector of the Municipality of Bologna.

Everything changed a year ago, including the world of reading, but there’s good news: the Italian book market recorded the highest growth in Europe in 2020. The commitment of publishers, bookshops and libraries, evident from the first days of the lockdown, led them to reinvent themselves, investing resources and creativity. The Government considered books an essential asset, launching a broad aid programme that also involved libraries and allowed bookshops to remain open. A discussion to identify future prospects and disseminate ideas and reflections.

It is not only up to schools to educate: extracurricular activities, entertainment and relationships contribute to that educational community that helps the growth of society. After a year of social distancing, distance learning and relationships on hold, it is clear that many activities have been confined to within four walls, with all the critical consequences that this entails. How can we imagine an educating community of the future? What are the necessary contributions and tools for it to maintain its role?
Participants **Giusi Marchetta** and **Giovanna Zoboli**. Moderator **Giorgia Grilli**.
