Lo schermo sul leggio (what you have never seen in a book and never read in a film)

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Liberation of the city of Bologna, CUBO presents an event dedicated to reaffirming the values of the Resistance and of freedom through the artistic project Lo schermo sul leggio, conceived by Ivano Marescotti.

The initiative begins with the screening of selected scenes from Gianni Puccini’s film The Seven Cervi Brothers, offering an opportunity to revisit the key moments that led the Cervi brothers to take an active role in the Resistance. Their story is narrated through the words of Papà Cervi, portrayed by Andrea Santonastaso.

At the centre of the narrative is the figure of Aldo, the first among the brothers to develop a profound political awareness and to inspire his large family to embrace the anti‑fascist cause.
The sacrifice of the seven Cervi brothers stands as one of the most dramatic and symbolic episodes in the history of the Italian Resistance.
