The complexity of narrating Afghanistan

Decades of conflict have produced multiple narratives of Afghanistan: journalists, aid workers, the military and researchers have helped build a specific (and sometimes limited) version of the history of a multifaceted country. The speakers discuss the possible ways of rendering the complexity and contradictions of vast and important issues such as human rights, the condition of women, the role of the Taliban and humanitarian organisations through images and words.
