The workshop aims to provide the necessary coordinates to unambiguously define the grammar common to all visual languages and its use in the different codes that define imagery useful for storytelling. By comparing different languages (cinema, advertising, illustration, comics, gaming), the similarities and differences are highlighted in terms of the objectives, research and professional approach of these languages. Examples of film sequences and making of documentaries are offered to clearly identify and analyse the substructures of mecha design and concept art in relation to the expressive and narrative goals of the authors and the audience's decoding tools. Demonstrations and practical tests actively involve the participants in order to verify their real acquisition of the teaching tools proposed during the workshop.
