The world of cosmetics is constantly developing and evolving, always striving for green
yet functional solutions. While there are specialist cosmetics laboratories committed to developing safe and effective products and investing heavily in research, there is an increasingly curious and enterprising public that occasionally wants to try their hand at creating home-made products.
CUBO offers a course to introduce interested participants to the world of cosmetics and chemistry, explained in the simplest and most practical way possible and in complete safety, with a focus on “do-it-yourself”.

What goes into a cosmetic product?

The first day of the workshop comprises a guided reading of a cosmetic product label and a brief assessment of the advantages of home-made production. This is followed by the hands-on activity of participants making their own fizzy bath bomb using everyday household items.

The second day offers a concise overview of the key formulation bases in cosmetics, clarifying the essential differences between gels, emulsions and pastes.
This is followed by a practical session in which participants create their own cosmetic using ingredients and materials provided by Calipso Lab.
