The digitisation of cultural heritage 25 September 2025
On the occasion of “Countdown to Researchers’ Night”, which this year focuses on the digitisation of cultural heritage, CUBO presents a theatrical performance, an illustration of how theatre brings memory to life through archival work. Excerpts from the performance Se non sarò me stesso (If I am not myself), directed by Andrea Paolucci and based on diaries preserved at the National Diary Archive in Pieve Santo Stefano, will be presented. In addition to the excerpts, the role of theatre in perpetuating historical memory will be discussed, and an example of the preservation and digitisation of archival sources will be provided through illustration of the National Diary Archive.
The evening aims to showcase how, alongside digitisation, the performing arts are a vital tool for preserving memory.
