Toni Capuozzo in THE PLACES OF '68

  • Thursday 7 June 2018 at 21:15

From the first demonstrations in '68 with students in suits and ties to those with long beards, unkempt sweaters, to parkas: everything changed very quickly in a single year. 1968 was a lot of immaterial things - music, posters in bedrooms, Bandiera Gialla on the radio - and it was also a lot of material things and places - Clarks, miniskirts, ankle boots, record players and cassettes, the
mimeograph and megaphone, Parini High School and the Catholic University.

The meeting will be held in Milan in the **MUDEC Auditorium** Museum of Cultures, Via Tortona 56.

Alessandro Preziosi in TOTÒ BEYOND THE MASK

  • Tuesday 10 July 2018 at 21:15

On 15 April 1967, an unparalleled actor, capable of giving voice to post-war Italy, disappeared. Fifty years after his death, Antonio Griffo Focas Flavio Angelo Ducas Comneno Porfirogenito Gagliardi De Curtis di Bisanzio, more romantically Totò, has never stopped making us feel his presence. His mask, the smiling and sad emblem of the urban underclass in a crushed but alive Italy, didn't do it, and the man who seemed to have little or nothing to do with that mask didn't do it. Through letters, interviews, music and poetry, **Alessandro Preziosi**, accompanied by the guitar of **Daniele Bonaviri**, retraces the career of the Neapolitan actor starting from his relationship with the theatre.

The show will be held in Bologna in Piazza Vieira de Mello.

Pedrito Martinez Group in CONCERT

  • Tuesday 7 August 2018 at 21:15

'Pedrito is a genius,' said Wynton Marsalis. A Cuban singer and percussionist, with his band he dispensed music with strong colours and incandescent rhythms following the best Caribbean tradition. Not only that, in New York Martinez picked up the metropolitan suggestions that came from rock, pop and jazz. From here, a mix of influences that give life to a 'product' that seeks to offer a virtuous synthesis of two worlds, for which the musician was recognised with a Grammy nomination, the title of 'percussionist of the year' and the Thelonious Monk Award.

Marco Paolini in TECNO-FILÒ. Technology and me

  • Thursday 19 July 2018 at 21:15

'I'm not an Internet expert, I'm not a social media user. I don't know quantum mechanics, nor neuroscience and physics, nor robotics and artificial intelligence. But all this affects me and interests me. I know that my life is changing thanks to or because of the technologies that derive from these innovations and which I also use like my peers. I try to reflect on this out loud by putting together small stories united by a thread of reasoning. Once upon a time, during winter vigils, the narratives of the elderly who told something unique and precious were called a thread. Without the presumption of succeeding, I believe it is necessary to try to narrate our chrysalis moment.'

The show will be held in Bologna in Piazza Vieira de Mello.

YELLOWJACKETS

  • Tuesday 24 July 2018 at 21:15

**Yellowjackets** has been the trademark of American fusion for 40 years. The historic band was born in 1977 as a group with guitarist Robben Ford, and then took shape with the current lineup (with the exception of bassist Jimmy Haslip) starting from the 90s, to reach a very personal synthesis of languages: jazz, funk, R&B and Latin music. By now we can say that their sound and their very name represent an authentic certificate of guarantee. The quartet will present material from their latest work, Cohearence, and some of their great classics.

With **Bob Mintzer** woodwind, **Russell Ferrante** piano and keyboards, **Dane Alderson** electric bass, **Will Kennedy** drums.

The show will be held in Bologna in Piazza Vieira de Mello.

Bill Frisell in WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR

  • Thursday 26 July 2018 at 21:15

The **When You Wish Upon A Star** project – complete with an album of the same name – is an intimately personal reflection and a tribute to some prestigious soundtracks. The repertoire features numerous songs taken from famous films of the fifties, sixties and seventies. Here as elsewhere, Frisellian aesthetics celebrate the intermingling and fusion of genres. The miscellany between high and low: between the country and Western
of 'Bonanza' and the valuable cultured lyricism of Nino Rota in the theme of 'The Godfather', between the epic melodies of Ennio Morricone of 'Once Upon a Time in the West' and the world of beautiful American songs.

With **Bill Frisell**, **Petra Haden** vocals, **Thomas Morgan** double bass, **Rudy Royston** drums.

The show will be held in Bologna in Piazza Vieira de Mello.

Salvatore Rossi in ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD?

  • Thursday 12 July 2018 at 21:15

It has always been a symbol of wealth, beauty, divinity and power, but also of savings and exchange. Those who
have it keep it safe in chests, safes and vaults. Why? Gold is a mystery that has endured for 6,000 years. Today, in the era of paper notes and virtual money, gold should seem anachronistic to us. Yet it is not forgotten at all! Starting with states and central banks, gold remains the safe haven par excellence, the linchpin of economies and monetary systems.

With **Salvatore Rossi ** General Director of the Bank of Italy and **Luca Telese**, journalist, television and radio host.

The show will be held in Bologna in Piazza Vieira de Mello
