11 Mar 2021 - 15 Apr 2021

CUBO proposes two meetings as part of its initiatives on adolescent and welfare issues of recent seasons, together addressing the many educational challenges of our time. The meetings aim to suggest conversational approaches methods that enable prevention in the family and in school, launching an open dialogue in which adults successfully regain that educational authority that is a fundamental prerequisite for supporting children’s growth.

Preadolescence and adolescence in the times of Covid

  • Thursday 11 March 2021 at 18:00 - 19:15

Together with **Alberto Pellai**, we analyse the aspects associated with the complex transition from childhood to adolescence, reflecting on the implications arising from the changes in the body, mind and life of youth when they enter the so-called "tsunami age”. There will be a particular focus on analysing how the COVID pandemic emergency has impacted the lives of young people, often pressing the accelerator on the dimension of hyperconnectivity, examining some of the associated aspects such as the risk of addiction to video games and the reduction of empathy and pro-sociality, all phenomena that derive from the pervasiveness with which screens have invaded our lives.

Educational challenges in the era of digital natives

  • Thursday 15 April 2021 at 18:00 - 19:15

There is an exponential demand for help from developmental specialists when facing phenomena such as cyberbullying and sexting, unknown until a few years ago. By stimulating virtual interconnection, Covid has also pushed many minors into the territory of hyperconnectivity. Technology provides access to content and experiences that very young people are often unable to process. **Alberto Pellai** talks with parents and educators about those attitudes in which online life becomes an opportunity for developmental and behavioural risk, suggesting conversational methods and styles that make prevention in the family and at school possible, establishing an open dialogue in which adults can successfully reclaim that educational authority that is a fundamental prerequisite for supporting the growth of children.
