Rap in loop
Rap music workshop 4 March – 13 May
Rap is music which many young people and adults today identify with and invest their individual and social identity in; rappers can “tell their story” through this mode of expression and produce original material.
An important part is the use of electronic resources that are now relatively cheap, intuitive, and accessible. The aim is to examine and experiment with some of the aspects of hip-hop and rap production in its various phases: lyric writing, the use and recording of vocals, creation of backing tracks and digital audio editing (production and post-production).
The intention is to show and exemplify some basic techniques by experimenting with them and developing activities that are as involving as possible.
The teachers provide explanations and examples using direct experimentation with resources.
In fact, one of the objectives that we intend to pursue is to create a draft of an original piece at the end of the cycle of meetings, through the coordination and supervision of the teachers.
In collaboration with Roberto Agostini and Leo Izzo.
The workshop takes place at and in collaboration with the Rocco D’Amato Prison of Bologna.
