Mindful eating
Experiential mindful eating programme 23 October – 27 November 2021
This series of meetings is aimed at all those who want to experience and develop mindfulness to improve their relationship with food and with their body; guided meditations, films, readings and group discussion draw attention to everything that goes through our mind when we eat: sounds, sensations, tactile perceptions, smells, flavours, moods, all aimed at acquiring a new awareness. Participants will learn to listen to the sensations of the body to recognise its needs, to obtain satisfaction and fulfilment at the table through their approach to food, to listen to the body with compassion and to free themselves of feelings of guilt.

Mindful Eating. Basic concepts

Introduction to the course topic: mindful eating and its basic concepts. The first meeting also includes the presentation and conduct of a guided meditation practice (to be used during the first week) and group discussion.
Self-acceptance: the first step towards change

Mindful eating: introduction to understanding our eating style and increasing focus. Presentation and conduct of a guided mindfulness meditation session with food.
Learning to listen to yourself
- Saturday 6 November 2021 at 10:30 - 12:00
During the third meeting we will learn to develop the skill of observing oneself, one's body and one's sensations.
Prejudicial thinking styles

The fourth meeting focuses on strategies to free ourselves of conditioning, learning to recognise the effect of negative emotions and stress on our eating habits.
The second part of the meeting will explore conscious nutrition through songs and videos.
Self observation and self-regulation in the relationship with food

The fifth meeting provides us with the tools to recognise the relationship between our mood and our mental state towards food and to gain control over negative emotions, developing a non-judgemental attitude towards food.
Attitude towards food: compassionate and grateful
- Saturday 27 November 2021 at 10:30 - 12:00
The sixth meeting guides participants on how to eat mindfully to nourish the body, mind and spirit and how to choose enjoyable and nutritious foods to obtain satisfaction at the table. The meeting concludes with a meditative session on conscious nutrition and group discussion. There is also opportunity to discuss conclusions on the programme..
