Energy tomorrow
Teaching module for senior secondary school students 2 – 16 February 2023
The module aims to inform senior secondary school students about the fundamental elements of energy development through fission and nuclear fusion, teaching about the technologies used to create energy and the main directions of research in the field of energy development compatible with human well-being and the protection of the environment.

Nuclear fission
- Thursday 2 February 2023 at 10:00 - 12:00
In almost a century of experiments and energy production through the fission of the atomic nucleus, we have learned a lot, even at the cost of serious errors and tragedies. Has this technology reached its peak today? What are the pros and cons of this energy source? And the risks?
Nuclear fusion
- Thursday 9 February 2023 at 10:00 - 12:00
Stars produce energy by fusing atomic nuclei together. Humans have tried to copy this reaction to produce large amounts of energy and little waste. But is this technology really exploitable? And how is the research going on in this area?
Nuclear energy: fake news, fears and awareness
- Thursday 16 February 2023 at 10:00 - 12:00
In the past, the processes of nuclear energy production have aroused strong worries and fears, often leading to decisions of society dictated more by emotion than by rationality.
It is possible to push aside fake news and disinformation and make informed
decisions?
