3D digital enterntainment
Technology Masterclass 11 October-21 December 2019
The art of creating a 3D scenario that can be used on a wide range of devices and places introduces young people to digital entertainment, making endless applications possible (from architecture, teaching and security to Industry 4.0).
A masterclass entirely dedicated to Unity 3D for the creation of environments in three dimensions (labyrinths, maps, 360° surround sound) and for all platforms (both Desktop and mobile) to develop authoritative skills in the creation of projects that exploit the game engine functions that are currently most used in the world by developers: from the exploration of the interface to the implementation of code, graphics, animation and audio.
The course is held in English (the presence of an Italian teacher is also envisaged).
Intro to Unity Capabilities
- Friday 11 October 2019 at 17:30 - 19:00
We’ll explore experimentation and free play to get to know the backgrounds of the most successful 3D games and applications.
Unity Interface
- From Friday 18 October 2019 to friday 11 October 2019, from 17:30 to 19:00
We’ll create the first virtual labyrinth so we’ll never get lost in the Unity interface.
Activating Game Events
- Friday 25 October 2019 at 17:30 - 19:00
IWe’ll learn how to program conditions and circumstances for triggering automatic events in the virtual environment.
Game design technics
- Friday 8 November 2019 at 17:30 - 19:00
We’ll learn the techniques and strategies for setting up a virtual environment and its rules.
In-Game UI
- Friday 15 November 2019 at 17:30 - 19:00
We’ll choose the grammar of gestures and controls to find the best ergonomics for browsing.
Effects: Sound & Particles
- Friday 6 December 2019 at 17:30 - 19:00
With Unity, sound also becomes three-dimensional: we’ll learn how to localise it in space.
Level Design Technics
- Friday 13 December 2019 at 17:00 - 19:30
As architects of a virtual world, we’ll design the elements that will populate it, including the “final monster”
Final Presentations
- Saturday 21 December 2019 at 17:30 - 19:00
We’ll open the doors of the virtual environment and observe the first visitors. Will they find bugs or create them?
Menu System
- Friday 29 November 2019 at 17:30 - 19:00
We’ll create choice menus and graphical interfaces.
